1. How does the First Tennessee or Capital Bank Visa Signature Rewards Program work?
Earn 2 points for every dollar in net purchases using your First Tennessee or Capital Bank Visa Signature Credit Card at merchants classified by Visa as a service station, automated fuel dispenser or restaurant. Earn 1 point for every dollar in net purchases using your First Tennessee or Capital Bank Visa Signature Credit Card at other merchants. Once you accumulate enough points, you can redeem them for airline tickets, cruises and vacation packages! Use your card for everyday purchases and watch your points add up!
2. How does my First Tennessee or Capital Bank Visa Signature Rewards Credit Card earn Points?
Every time you use your First Tennessee or Capital Bank Credit Card, you’ll receive two (2) points for every $1.00 in net purchases (purchases minus returns) at service stations, automated fuel dispensers and restaurants and one (1) point for every $1.00 in net purchases (purchases minus returns) at other merchants. Cash advances, fees and balance transfers do not earn Points.

You can call our First Tennessee or Capital Bank Visa Signature Rewards Redemption Center at 1-800-246-5819 or log in to your account and click on the redemption tab.
4. Do my Points expire?
Yes, points expire in 3 years on a first-in, first-out basis.
5. Is there a maximum amount of Points I can earn per year?
No, there is no cap on points that are earned.
6. Can First Tennessee or Capital Bank Visa Signature Rewards Points be transferred to another person's account?
Yes, you may transfer your points to a friend or family member's account by logging into your account and clicking on the gifting points tab. The transferred points expire 1 year from the time of transfer. You must have the recipient's First Tennessee or Capital Bank Visa Signature Rewards membership number in order to transfer points to their account. You may also include a message to the recipient via email, notifying them of their point gift.
7. I'm a joint cardholder on the credit card account. Can I also redeem the Points?
Yes, either the primary or joint cardholder may redeem their combined points for their choice of reward.
8. How do airline redemptions for the First Tennessee or Capital Bank Visa Signature Rewards Program work?
You can redeem your points for tickets on most major airlines by calling our First Tennessee or Capital Bank Visa Signature Rewards Redemption Center at 1-800-246-5819 or online at the First Tennessee or Capital Bank Visa Signature Rewards website. There are no blackout periods but tickets are limited to availability - as long as a seat is available, you may redeem points for a ticket.
9. Can I upgrade my airline ticket to Business Class or First Class?
For the majority of our airline First Tennessee or Capital Bank Visa Signature Rewards , you can redeem your points for any class of service. You may not upgrade your ticket once booked. The airline may be contacted for questions on upgrades or other changes to itinerary once tickets are booked.
10. Who do I contact if something goes wrong with my flight?
You may contact the airline directly. You will receive contact numbers on your flight itinerary, which will be emailed to you after you redeem points for air travel.
11. What happens if I cancel a flight booked through the First Tennessee or Capital Bank Visa Signature Rewards Program?
Tickets are non-changeable and non-refundable. Any changes to itinerary must be handled directly with the airline listed on your itinerary. You may be subject to fees enforced by the airlines for changes to your flight itinerary.
12. Can I receive airline frequent flyer miles for airline tickets using First Tennessee or Capital Bank Visa Signature Rewards Points?
Yes. To receive airline miles for flying, you should provide your airline frequent flyer number on the MT*BREAKAWAY site or to the agent over the phone when you redeem your Points. You must work directly with the airline in question if you forget to provide your frequent flyer number or in cases of any discrepancies.
13. Can I combine my First Tennessee or Capital Bank Visa Signature Rewards Points and my frequent flyer miles for free airline tickets?
No, our First Tennessee or Capital Bank Visa Signature Rewards Program is unique to the bank and you can only redeem your First Tennessee or Capital Bank Visa Signature Rewards points for First Tennessee or Capital Bank Visa Signature Rewards . If you have airline miles, you need to work with each individual airline frequent flyer program separately.
14. Can I keep my Points if I close my account?
No, our First Tennessee or Capital Bank Visa Signature Rewards Program is unique to the bank and you can only redeem your First Tennessee or Capital Bank Visa Signature Rewards points for First Tennessee or Capital Bank Visa Signature Rewards . If you have airline miles, you need to work with each individual airline frequent flyer program separately.
15. What fees am I responsible for?
(1) Cardholders are responsible for all change fees and penalties associated with ticket and other travel service modifications. (2) MT*BREAKAWAY travel agency will charge you fees (for which we will not reimburse you) for transactions that you conduct through the agency, whether or not you are redeeming First Tennessee or Capital Bank Visa Signature Rewards points. These charges will show on your statement as MT*BREAKAWAY [TYPE] where fees are charged for AIR, HOTEL, CAR OR EXPERIENTIAL TRAVEL bookings. (3)Cardholders can now pay fees with points if preferable. (3) You may use First Tennessee or Capital Bank Visa Signature Rewards points to pay the MT*BREAKAWAY Agency fees. (4) Cardholders are responsible for any ancillary charges assessed by airlines, such as baggage fees, upgrades, and other services.
16. Can I redeem if I don’t have enough points?
You must have the minimum number of points available required for redemption as published in the Visa Signature guidelines and on the Visa Signature website. Advancement of points will not be given for purchases that have not cycled on your account.
17. How do cash back rewardswork?
Card members can redeem points for cash back rewards. These rewards are provided in the form of a statement credit. Reward credits are added to your account within two billing cycles.
